Laura GarfieldI studied violin in Middle School (called Junior High School way back when) for 2 or 3 years. At the time my uncle called it a "fiddle" and I was highly incensed. "No," I said, "it's a violin!" In the early ‘90's, Joel and I became very interested in bluegrass music and after hearing a lot of fiddle music I decided to study bluegrass fiddle. I'm still playing that same instrument that I insisted was a "violin". Besides taking lessons, I have attended some wonderful music camps, such as: Mark O'Connor Fiddle Camp in San Diego Bluegrass at the Beach in Oregon Roanoke Bluegrass Weekend in Virginia Bobby Hicks Fiddle Workshop in Texas Playing fiddle is one of the highlights of my life! - back to the 'about us' section - |
